Hilarious.
Adams was confronted about the solution to 6*9 being 42 in base 13 and he said he might be sad, but he isn’t clever enough to write jokes in base 13.
Pretty simple tattoo though.

I think the tattoo is a reference to Douglas Adams hitchhike’s guide to the galaxy.
42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life the universe and everything

Because 9 sacks of six balls or 6 sacks of 9 balls each would have 42 balls altogether. And 42 is the meaning of life because it is 24 backwards and if you subtract 1 from 24 then u have 23, which is the number that makes the world go round.
