iii) There are enough incentives for having a girl child
iv) There are enough incentives for being a girl.

Things would continue to be abysmal for the female foetus and the girl child despite all the laws unless the mentality of the people changes.

Ya, I know Sweta, there are enough lawas to protect the girl child and female foeticide. But what is the meaning of law, if the common man does not understand or respect it? Mental awareness fron deep inside the heart is necessary to change the current situation. Nothing can be done, if the majority want it to be ineffective.

Seriously I wonder when all these problems will come to an end. I mean in spite of all the laws each and every women faces a lot of problems in her day to day life and I guess every one of us has come to terms with it. It’s heartbreaking that in spite of all sorts of tv campaigns, still its difficult to change the mindset of people! I mean I have seen such powerful campaigns on the DD, if that has failed I doubt this one will succeed. Anyways I hope things change for the best.
