Size zero: Bliss or curse?

Skeleton look is better known as “size zero” in the glamour world. Not only the international models, but Indian models and Bollywood stars are also mad for this. The concept behind this “size zero” is that, it looks stylish, sexy and trendy. May be right, but is it really that much desired? Inspired by all these, many teenagers follow strict diet with heavy exercise just to get that look. Some even take the help of drugs and smoke to get thinner. They can get that look, but at the expense of good health. In doing so, all do forget that “health is wealth”. When they’ll realize, it would be too late. It may lead to anorexia- a state of extreme weakness and internal disorders followed by food disorder. What should we call this, bliss, or curse?

When many international fashion houses are making a ban on the extra-thin models, Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor is crazy for the matchstick figure. She has revealed her desire to attain that zero size. Many delicate minds get inspiration from her and try their best to be thinner and thinner.

Most recently, the death of Luisel Ramos just after a catwalk has shocked many in the fashion industry. It was a heart attack caused by eating only leaves for a long time. Many health organizations are now demanding some legal action to protect the health of fashion icons. It sounds great.

So dear Kareena, please give up this habit now and stop making charm over the poor little girls. Because half of the Indians are starving for food, if this trend persists, all will starve together.

How can one be happy if she looks pathetic? It’s never bliss if you are near-death!

Ugh. It’s repulsive that there are fashion houses that promote this as ”glamorous.”

It seems what was fashionable in the late 1960s has come back to haunt the girls again. It deserves to be rejected outright by one and all, especially by those who are easily deceived into believing such meaningless fads as fashion.

I am the new resident Debunker and Facts Checker.

The photo dipicted has been dismissed long ago as a hoax.

It was photoshopped and is NOT REAL.

Although there are genuine concerns about malnourishment of Models, it isn’t that big a concern that you should compare to the poverty of India.

Quote: Because half of the Indians are starving for food, if this trend persists, all will starve together.

Fact Check: NOT half of Indians starve!

Mr. ”Debunker”, if you want to properly debunk then you should post a link to the source material that proves you are right. Without that, your general statements that don’t even name the source who did the debunking only make you look ridiculous.

Please be careful before writing self derogatory remarks like ”half of the Indians are starving for food”. There is crisis and inflation is happening. But no one is starving.
Coming to the point, it was I don’t no why some people find them sexy, trendy, smart,....and so on! I won’t accept if such a girl proposes me.

If you ever accepted a proposal by a size zero girl and decided to settle down, it would be the beginning of a hard life for you. She’ll bear no children and make you a size zero by not just too uninterested in food and cooking. I am sure you are wise Indian guy.

Oh, by the way, I am aware that South Indians are particularly fond of voluptuous women. All of South Indian actresses are on the heavier side. And I feel South India is wiser in that regard for that simple reason.

The photograph does look unreal. Modeling is all about a charming figure not a skeleton look. In fact this model who is not an Indian looks as though she is starving to death and not the Indians as quoted in the article. I congratulate my fellow country men for being sensitive to the remarks made on our country.

For your information Kareena is not a size zero and she is not aspiring to get one.

Fashion is all about looking beautiful and ravishing and not sickly and lean! That is precisely the point and as far as food is concerned i dont know how people afford to avoid, i mean what’s there in being a super model and earn loads if you can’t even munch a doughnut of your own choice, come on guys!

We are nation of lusty people who like our women to be ’fuller’ because being an ancient civilization we know it just too well that a voluptuous woman can bear healthy children. By now, it has gone into our subconscious impression of ’attractiveness’. We certainly don’t like the starved look.
So far as Kareena is concerned, I heard she considers herself Indian JLO. If that’s true, I don’t see where JLO and size zero meet.

most of the south indian actresses nowadays are from bollywood and they are not actually very voluptous. Of course I agree the heroes are bulky.

Well, I am also fond of southside heroines rather than the Bollywood ones. But but I’m no sure whether we can attribute that to civilizations. In fact in all civilizations very few would prefer a size zero girl.
Now I am not going to make any further comments on this...it’s beginning to look very male chauvinistic :P

Size Zero is not desired by the Indian youths. Rather the reverse is true.

Kareena has always very high-flying ideas about herself. However, it doesn’t matter. Let the country’s young male folk decide the issue...

”The concept behind this “size zero” is that, it looks stylish, sexy and trendy.”...yeah....alright....

People who want to be like that need to have some help. It is not only healthy but looks terrible...who wants to be like that besides this chick?

Girls don’t look good at ”Size zero”. Something is required on body, otherwise, they don’t appear as girls. Why to deny or kill the natural look?

Anorexia is a psychological disorder which needs treatment... There is no point in discussing if the girl looks good or bad when she is thin. We have all learnt to value a thin body.. That is not going to change anytime soon. What could be done is parents might encourage girls to eat better food... Or at least encourage them to have the daily dose of supplements.. When things go out of hand, the hawk eyed shrink would always be waiting for his next bait

What looks ’good’ is sadly a social construct - in some societies thin is associated not only with looking good, but also with other attributes such as smartness, intelligence, desirability, etc. And the expectation is made of women that they need to live up to this ideal or live a life of shame. But the fact remains that it is neither normal nor healthy to starve oneself in order to look good.

The picture is a good refection of society which has lost its direction not respecting nature’s laws. Some of us are starving and others are starving themselves!!!It’s all a plot to overcome the world’s Food Crisis ha ha ha and not recognize our mismanagement of resources and wastage.

Doctors say a certain minimum amount of fat is indispensable for the health of the human body. Size zero means going below that level, just for the sake of ill-conceived notions of what conctitutes fashion.

The Italians are very sensible about the matter. In its fashion shows, ultra thin models are barred from walking the ramp.

This style fad or misconception creates a lot of inferiority complex in young girls. I do not understand why this concept generated on the first hand. It is quite easy to condemn someone on his/her looks but it is easier to resort to healthy eating habits and not just slog on to achieve a figure which comprises of just bones.
